Tahoe Summer Events You Won’t Want to Miss in 2026
Your Guide to Some of the Best Events Around Lake Tahoe & Reno This Summer
There’s something special about summer in Lake Tahoe. The snow melts, the trails open up, patios fill with locals and visitors, and the entire region comes alive with events, festivals, outdoor adventures, and community gatherings. Whether you are a full-time resident, second-home owner, or considering making Tahoe your home, summer is one of the best reminders of why so many people love living here.
From local artisan festivals to iconic rodeos and outdoor theater performances on the lake, here are a few standout events happening around the Tahoe and Reno region this summer.
Made in Tahoe Festival
Palisades Tahoe | May 23–24, 2026
The Made in Tahoe Festival is one of the best ways to experience the creativity and local culture that make the Tahoe region unique. This two-day event showcases local artists, makers, businesses, musicians, and food vendors from across the Tahoe-Truckee area.
You’ll find everything from handcrafted goods and Tahoe-inspired artwork to local food, live music, and community organizations. It’s a fun event for families, visitors, and locals alike — and a great reminder of how strong the local small-business community is here in Tahoe.
If you’re newer to the area, events like this are also a great way to connect with the community and discover local businesses you may not have otherwise found.
Reno-Tahoe Odyssey Relay Run Adventure
Reno & Lake Tahoe | May 29–30, 2026
For those who enjoy endurance events and outdoor adventure, the Reno-Tahoe Odyssey (RTO) is one of the region’s most iconic experiences. Teams participate in a relay race that loops from Reno to Lake Tahoe and back again, covering approximately 178 miles through some truly incredible scenery.
The event has built a strong following over the years because it combines competition, camaraderie, and adventure. You’ll see runners making their way through mountain roads, lakeside communities, and downtown Reno over the course of the relay.
Even if you’re not participating, it’s a fun event to follow and a great example of the active lifestyle that draws so many people to the Tahoe area.
Reno Rodeo
Reno | June 18–27, 2026
Known as the “Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West,” the Reno Rodeo has become one of Northern Nevada’s signature summer traditions.
The rodeo features professional competitions including bull riding, barrel racing, bronc riding, steer wrestling, and more, along with concerts, carnival rides, family-friendly activities, and community events.
One of the most meaningful parts of the event each year is the Special Kids’ Rodeo, which gives children with disabilities the opportunity to participate in a rodeo experience of their own.
Whether you’re a longtime local or experiencing it for the first time, the Reno Rodeo captures much of the Western culture and heritage that still plays a large role in the region today.
Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival
Sand Harbor, Incline Village | July 3 – August 23, 2026
Few events compare to watching live theater on the shores of Lake Tahoe.
The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival at Sand Harbor combines world-class performances with one of the most scenic venues anywhere in the country. This year’s performances include Macbeth and The Heart of Robin Hood.
The atmosphere is part of what makes this event so memorable. Many attendees arrive early with wine and dinner to enjoy the sunset before the performance begins. Between the lake views, mountain backdrop, and outdoor theater experience, it’s one of the highlights of the summer season in Incline Village.
Tickets often sell quickly for many performances, so planning ahead is recommended.
